Three COVID-19 cases detected in Matara
Public Health Inspectors (PHIs) of the Matara Municipality have detected two COVID-19 positive cases. Another person was also confirmed COVID-10 positive with a PCR test carried out at the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital.
The total number of COVID-19 positive patients in the Matara Municipal area now stands at three, Matara Municipal Health Department Chief PHI Erange Weerasuriya said.
About 384 PCR tests have conducted in the Matara MC division so far and 176 persons have been directed to quarantine centers. PCR tests have been conducted in Uyanwatte, at the Ruhuna University and Totamuna Fisheries Habour, he said.
The Police and Matara MC PHIs are conducting awareness programmes at bus stands, markets and public places for the people on how to protect against COVID-19.
The Matara Municipal Health Department held healthcare programs against coronavirus on the official website of the Matara Municipal Council, Chief PHI Erange Weerasuriya said.
