Grace period for payment of salaries to private-sector employees extended

The Government has extended the grace period provided for the payment of salaries to private sector employees, in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, to December 2020.

The Task Force representing employees, trade unions, the national Labour Advisory Council, the Ministry of Labour, and the Department of Labour has been instructed to extend the implementation of the 04 key decisions initially taken in this regard, from May- September 2020, to December.

The cabinet of Minister has approved a proposal submitted by the Minister of Labour instructing the Task Force to extend the grace period till December 2020 due to the current coronavirus outbreak. (NewsWire)
