More Covid patients identified from highly congested Welikada prison

Another 23 inmates (22 females & a male) tested positive  for Covid at the Welikada Prison today.

Commissioner General of Prisons told NewsWire that these patients will be transferred to Welikanda Covid hospital for treatment.

Yesterday a group of prison inmates at the Welikada Prison were identified as Covid patients.

Commissioner General of Prisons Thushara Upuldeniya said that the group consists of 2 male inmates, 4 female inmates & a prison official.

Overall 213 Covid patients have been identified in Sri Lanka today. (NewsWire)
