Royal Colombo Golf Club closed after a gardner’s daughter tests positive
The Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) has announced that it will remain closed from today.
Issuing a notice to members, the management said the decision was taken after it was uncovered that a gardener’s daughter who was employed at the apparel factory in Minuwangoda had tested positive for Covid19.
The RCGC management said it has been meeting since Monday (05) to work out how to manage this new crisis.
The management further said that the gardener and his family will be taken for testing today or tomorrow. He was working at the club till Saturday (03). All RCGC gardeners and any potential contacts have been requested not to report to work from today.
As a precautionary measure, the club will remain closed from today and PCR tests would be carried out on contact point workers for the safety of the staff and members.
The RCGC management further said that it has established a single point of contact for all questions regarding this matter to ensure the delivery of accurate information. Those with inquiries have been requested to contact the management via info@rcgcsl.com.
The Royal Colombo Golf Club together with its medical advisors are assessing the situation and will send a further communication on the matter to members, the management added. (NewsWire)
