Chennai Metro Extends Commute Hours On Public Demand, Check New Timings

<p>Chennai Metro Rail services have been running with 50 percent seating facilities from June 21 following the announcement of relaxations given by the Tamil Nadu government after a month-long lockdown in the state in the wake of the second wave of coronavirus.</p> <p>However, with further relaxations of curfew in the state amid declining Covid -19 cases, &nbsp;demand for metro rail services has increased in the city following which Chennai Metro Rail has announced that the trains will be operated from 5.30 am to 9 pm with effect from Thursday.</p> <p>Following the announcement, the Chennai Metro Rail started its service an hour before today in order to cater to the demand and convenience of passengers.</p> <p>During peak hours i.e. from 8 am to 11 pm and from 5 pm to 8 pm, the trains will run at the intervals of 5 minutes for an hour.
