  • Conservative youth group Turning Point USA has deleted a tweet sharing a Nicholas Cage meme mocking "leftists" over protective masks.
  • The tweet was deleted after it was announced that TPUSA co-founder Bill Montgomery, who was 80, had died from complications linked to the coronavirus. 
  • TPUSA co-founder Charlie Kirk has questioned mandates over wearing masks, but said that the elderly and vulnerable should self-isolate. 
  • President Trump was criticised for speaking at a June TPUSA event, where attendees were not wearing masks or practicing social distancing.

Conservative youth group Turning Point USA (TPUSA) has deleted a tweet mocking wearing protective masks after its co-founder, Bill Montgomery, died of complications from the coronavirus. 

On Wednesday two friends of Montgomery confirmed to Politico that he had died, aged 80, of complications from the disease.
