India Records Over 3.43 Lakh Covid Cases In Last 24 Hrs, 4000 People Succumb To Virus
<p><strong>Covid In India: <span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0">I</span></strong><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0">ndia reports 3,43,144 new </span><span class="r-18u37iz">COVID 19</span><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0"> cases, 3,44,776 discharges and 4,000 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per Union Health Ministry.</span></p> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0"> Total cases: 2,40,46,809</span></p> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0"> Total discharges: 2,00,79,599</span></p> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0"> Death toll: 2,62,317 Active cases: 37,04,893</span></p> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0"> Total vaccination: 17,92,98,584</span></p> <p>The Indian Council of Medical Research informed that as many as 31,13,24,100 samples have been tested in the country up till May 13 including 18,75,515 samples tested yesterday. </p> <p>Maharashtra reported 42,582 new COVID-19 cases while 850 more patients succumbed to the disease, the state health department reported.</p> <p>With the addition of 42,582 COVID-19 cases on Thursday (May 13), down from 46,781 on Wednesday (May 12), the state's caseload increased to 52,69,292, while the death toll reached 78,857, it said.</p> <p>The national capital registered 10,489 new Covid-19 cases and 308 more fatalities on Thursday, while the positivity rate came down to 14.24%, the lowest in a month, according to the Delhi health department.</p> <p>Kerala recorded 39,955 new Covid cases on Thursday. 97 deaths were confirmed due to the Coronavirus infection. With this, the death toll mounted to 6150. The test positivity rate was recorded at 28.61 percent.</p> <p>The Karnataka Department of Health and Family Welfare Wednesday linked 527 more deaths in the last few days to Covid-19, as the death toll rose to 20,368 since March 10 last year. The daily test positivity rate was observed to be at 29.67 per cent from across the state in the last 24 hours.</p> <p><strong>Total Number of COVID Vaccine Doses Given in India Nears 18 Cr</strong></p> <p>The cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country inched closer to 18 crore, the Union Health Ministry said on Thursday. It said 4,37,192 beneficiaries in the age group of 18-44 years received their first dose of COVID vaccine on Thursday and cumulatively 39,14,688 across 32 states and union territories since the start of the third phase of the vaccination drive. "The cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country stands at 17,91,77,029 as per the 8 pm provisional report," the ministry said.</p> <p id="3" class="story_para_3"> </p>
