Trump has not yet commented on the passing of Rep. John Lewis despite retweeting Twitter posts after the announcement of his death

- President Donald Trump has not yet commented on the death of Rep. John Lewis, despite being active on social media when the news was announced.
- Lewis, a civil rights icon, died aged 80 on Friday, seven months after he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
- Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden has also not released a statement yet.
- The Georgia congressman did not attend Trump's 2016 inauguration and has previously criticized him openly.

As hundreds took to social media to mourn the passing of civil rights icon Rep. John Lewis on Friday, President Donald Trump kept quiet.
The president was still active on social media, retweeting a Twitter post two hours after the announcement of Lewis's passing, praising conservative political commentator Tammy Bruce's who had guest-hosted Sean Hannity's Fox News show.
