India Witnesses Decline In Covid Deaths; 2887 Fatalities, 1.34 Lakh New Cases Reported

<p><strong>Covid In India:</strong> <span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0">India reports 1,34,154 new </span><span class="r-18u37iz">COVID19</span><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0"> cases, 2,11,499 discharges, and 2,887 deaths in last 24 hours, as per Health Ministry.</span></p> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0"> Total cases: 2,84,41,986</span></p> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0"> Total discharges: 2,63,90,584</span></p> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0"> Death toll: 3,37,989 </span></p> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0">Active cases: 17,13,413</span></p> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0"> Total vaccination: 22,10,43,693</span></p> <p>The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that as many as 35,37,82,648 samples have been tested in the country up to June 2 including 21,59,873 samples tested yesterday.</p> <p>Karnataka on Wednesday recorded 16,387 new Covid cases and 463 deaths in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate dropped further to 11.22% as recoveries (21,199) continued to outnumber new infections across the state. In capital Bengaluru, 307 more deaths were confirmed, while 4095 new infections were reported in the last 24 hours.</p> <p>Meanwhile, Delhi reported 576 new cases, 103 deaths, and 1,287 recoveries in the last 24 hours. At 0.78 per cent, the positivity rate in the city remained below 1 per cent for the third day.</p> <p>As states are announcing unlock phases, centre commented on the gradual lifting of lockdown restrictions and said it rests on &ldquo;three pillars&rdquo;: positivity rate below 5 per cent for a week, vaccination of 70 per cent of the vulnerable population, and community ownership of Covid-appropriate behaviour and care.</p>
