Bengal: FIR Against BJP Leader Suvendu Adhikari & Brother Soumendu For Stealing Relief Material

<p><strong>Kolkata:</strong> FIR has been registered against BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari and his brother Soumendu Adhhikari for allegedly stealing relief material from the Kanthi Municipality office, according to news agency ANI.</p> <div class="paywall"> <p>The case was registered after Ratnadip Manna, a member of Kanthi Municipal Administrative Board, made a complaint at Kanthi Police Station on 1st June against Suvendu and his brother Soumendu Adhikari, former Municipal Chief of Kanthi Municipality.</p> <p>[tw]https://twitter.com/ANI/status/1401263650979999744[/tw]</p> <p>"On 29 May 2021 at 12:30 pm as per direction of Suvendu Adhikari and his brother and former Municipal Chief Soumendu Adhikari of Kanthi Municipality, Government tripal whose estimated value is around lakhs of rupees, was taken away from municipality office godown by forcefully and illegally opening locks," he said in the complaint submitted at Kanthi Police Station.</p> <p>TMC turncoat Adhikari contested against Mamata in Nandigram and won by a very thin margin.</p> <p>On Saturday night, Kolkata police arrested West Bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari&rsquo;s close aide - Rakhal Bera was arrested for allegedly duping people with fake promises. Bera, considered a close associate of Adhikari was arrested by Manicktala police station based on a complaint of one Sujit Dey.</p> <p>According to Kolkata Police, Bera was part of a criminal conspiracy with Chanchal Nandi and a few others and allegedly organised a fake job racket sometime between July and September 2019.</p> <p>The complainant Sujit Dey had approached the duo seeking a job. &ldquo;The duo reportedly promised Dey with a job in Irrigation and Waterways Ministry. The accused 'collected huge amounts of money' from the public on the pretext of offering them a job in Group D (field staff) of the&nbsp;West Bengal irrigation and waterways department, says the complaint.</p> <p>(with ANI inputs)</p> </div>
