'Kumbh Mela Returnees Will Distribute Corona As Prasad': Mumbai Mayor Demands Full Lockdown

<p><strong>Mumbai: </strong>With Maharashtra reporting biggest ever single-day Covid-19 spike, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar on Saturday demanded that a complete lockdown should be imposed in Mumbai and said all those returning from the Kumbh Mela in Haridwar to their respective states will distribute corona as &lsquo;prasad&rsquo; looking at the current situation.</p> <p>Pednekar pointed out while most of the people in Mumbai were adhering to the Covid-19 norms but a few citizens were causing problems for the rest.</p> <p><strong>ALSO READ |</strong>&nbsp;<span style="color: #e03e2d;"><strong><a style="color: #e03e2d;" href="https://ift.tt/3dpy2uw" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Needlessly Roaming Outside During Weekend Curfew Can Land You In Jail, Warn Delhi Police</a></strong></span></p> <p>&ldquo;95% of Mumbaikars are adhering to Covid-19 restrictions. The remaining 5% of people who are not following restrictions are causing problems to others. All these people should be quarantined in their respective states at their own cost. Ten states, including Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan, report 79.32 percent of the new cases, according to the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry.</p> <p>Uttar Pradesh has reported 27,360 new Covid-19 cases while Delhi reported 19,486 new cases.</p>
