Delhi Curfew News: CM Kejriwal Announces Weekend Curfew To Break The Chain
<p><strong>Delhi Curfew: </strong>Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced a weekend curfew in the national capital. Weekend Curfew is to begin from 10 pm Friday and will continue till 6 am Monday. Only essential services are to operate freely. All markets, malls, gyms, auditoriums, etc to remain shut over the weekend.</p> <p>Private offices will be asked to inform their employees to work from home. No pass is required for movement in the city during the weekend lockdown for medical purposes.</p> <p><strong>Delhi Weekend Curfew: <a href="https://ift.tt/3tkNzBx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">What's Open And What Will Remain Shut?</a> </strong></p> <p>Curfew passes will be issued to those rendering essential services. Malls, gyms, spas, and auditoriums to be closed. Cinemas halls are now to operate at only 30% capacity only. He also spoke about the bed availability in the national capital and said that the city has 5000 beds available.</p> <p>The decision to impose stricter restrictions came after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal held an emergency level meeting with Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on Thursday afternoon.</p> <p>Arvind Kejriwal also met Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain, Chief Secretary, and other senior officials to be apprised about the current coronavirus situation in the national capital, ahead of him meeting the Lt. Governor.</p> <p>Delhi on Wednesday had recorded its highest single-day spike, since the start of the pandemic, with 17,282 fresh cases and 104 deaths.</p> <p>Meanwhile, India on Thursday reached a grim milestone of reporting over 2 lakh new COVID-19 cases in a span of 24 hours. According to the Union Health Ministry, as many as 2,00,739 new coronavirus cases were reported, which is a single-day high for India since the beginning of the pandemic. In the last 24 hours, 1,038 COVID-related deaths were also reported in the country.</p>
