Sri Lankan family thank Saudi company for sending sick employee home in private jet

Sri Lankan national Andrew Roshan who had fallen unconscious due to a brain hemorrhage after being ill for over two months was repatriated to Sri Lanka yesterday (21) by a private firm in Saudi Arabia.

Roshan who is from Kadawatha is said to have been employed at the GulfWest Company Ltd in Saudi Arabia at the time of falling ill and has since been hospitalised.

On the repeated requests from the patient’s family members and as a humanitarian gesture, the Saudi Arabian company had repatriated Roshan via a private jet accompanied by doctors and nurses.

He had arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake last morning (20) and had been placed under mandatory quarantine at a private hospital in Colombo.

The Gulfwest Company Ltd is said to have spent nearly Rs.15 million for the repatriation of the Sri Lankan.

Meanwhile, family members told Newswire that Roshan has been admitted to a private hospital in Colombo where he is to continue treatment.

A team of doctors has been appointed to make sure all aspects of the ailment is treated.

The Doctors have assured that with appropriate treatment Andrew Roshan will revive and be able to talk and walk in due time.

The family extended its gratitude to the Idris Mustafa, the owner of GulfWest Company Ltd for repatriating Roshan. (Newswire)
