Islandwide power failure : Electricity in some areas restored

Electricity supply to some areas in Southern province and areas around Kothmale has been restored, CEB said.

“We have restored power in several areas, we will be able to resolve the issues in the other areas very soon” CEB spokesman told NewsWire.

The electricity supply for all Island was disrupted around 12.35 pm today due to a transmission failure.

A technical issue at the Kerawalapitiya Grid Sub- Station was identified as the cause for the power failure. (NewsWire)
