Ministry of Health issues guidelines to follow when carrying out RT-PCR Tests for Covid-19 at work

The Ministry of Health (MoH) has issued a statement, citing the guidelines to be followed when carrying out RT-PCR tests to identify Covid-19 positive or infected persons at workplaces.

MoH clearly sets out what RT-PCR tests for Covid-19 infections mean and the reliability of such tests conducted.

Further into the guidelines, the MoH states that is is advisable for the staff, who are residents of recently locked down areas in which Covid-19 cases were found during the last 14 days, to not report for work until the lockdown is lifted. Also, if such staffer’s service is essential, their work can be commenced only after their completion of 14 days in quarantine. It is also noted that conducting an early RT-PCR test is not considered as an alternative for quarantining.

Apart from that the statement also refers to what needs to be done when a staffer is exposed to a contact of a Covid-19 infected person.
