9 Omicron Cases In Rajasthan, 7 In Maharashtra Push India’s Tally To 21

<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Mumbai: </strong>Maharashtra on Sunday detected seven more cases of the Covid-19 Omicron variant, and nine cases of Omicron variant have been detected in Rajasthan's Jaipur, taking the country&rsquo;s tally to 21.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">A health official said seven people from Pune district have tested positive for Omicron variant.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">The official said they include a woman, who came from Nigeria along with her two daughters to meet her brother in adjoining Pimpri Chinchwad area.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">He added that the woman&rsquo;s brother and his two daughters have also tested positive for the variant, PTI reported.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">The official further said another case is of a man from Pune who returned from Finland in November last week.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">This is the eighth case in Maharashtra as earlier a marine engineer from Thane district had tested positive for the Omicron variant.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">The 33-year-old man is currently undergoing treatment at a Covid-19 care centre in Kalyan town, around 50 km from Mumbai.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Earlier in the day, India reported its fifth case of the Omicron variant from Delhi.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">The country had detected its first two cases of the Omicron variant from Karnataka earlier this week, while the third and fourth cases were reported from Gujarat&rsquo;s Jamnagar and Mumbai respectively.</p>
