Uddhav Thackeray Says 'Our Govt Turned Crisis Into Opportunity' On 2 Years Of MVA In Maharashtra

<p><strong>New Delhi: </strong>Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, who is recovering at a private hospital following spine surgery, issued a message to mark the conclusion of his two years in office, thanking the people for supporting his government in all of its endeavours and claiming that it is the "people's government."</p> <p>Thackeray on Sunday claimed that COVID-19 management took up the majority of his government's two-year term and that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) was successful in converting the 'crisis into an opportunity'.</p> <p>Following the Maharashtra Assembly elections in 2019, the Thackeray-led Shiv Sena split from its long-time ally, the BJP, on the subject of sharing the chief ministership. The MVA administration was formed when it formed an agreement with the NCP and Congress.</p> <h4><strong>Tryst With Covid-19 Pandemic:</strong></h4> <p>"We did not panic during man-made and natural calamities and our focus remained on the welfare of the common man. Most parts of the last two years went in COVID-19 management. We succeeded in turning the crisis into an opportunity,'' the chief minister was quoted by PTI in its report.</p> <p>He asserted that there is a significant difference in health, medical facilities, and infrastructure two years ago and now.</p> <p>When it came to dealing with the epidemic, Thackeray stated there was no negativity in his government or administration.</p> <h4><strong>MVA Govt Achievements:</strong></h4> <p>"We have worked hard in improving the industrial investment, agriculture infrastructure, housing, employment, water supply, solar energy, environment, tourism, forest and the focus has been on how the government's efforts will ensure the welfare of the common man,'' he added.</p> <p>Debts of cultivators of Rs 20,000 crore have been forgiven under the Mahatma Jyotirao Phule agricultural loan waiver plan, according to the CM.</p> <p>Under the Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Arogya Scheme, the state government has donated Rs 2,600 crore to hospitals, and 14.4 lakh people have received free treatment, he added.</p> <p>(<em>With inputs from PTI)</em></p>
