India Reports 9,119 Coronavirus Cases, 396 Deaths In Last 24 Hrs. Most Fatalities From Kerala

<p><strong>New Delhi:&nbsp;</strong>India witnessed a marginal drop in Covid surge on Thursday as the country reported 9,119 new Coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours. 10,264 patients recovered from the virus on Wednesday and the country registered 396 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per Health Ministry.</p> <p>The active Coronavirus cases stand at 1,09,940 - the lowest in 539 days.</p> <p><span style="color: #e03e2d;"><strong><a style="color: #e03e2d;" title="Also Read | Noida International Airport: Priyanka Gandhi, Samajwadi Party Question PM Modi Ahead Of His Jewar Visit" href="https://ift.tt/3DPLIda" target="">Also Read | Noida International Airport: Priyanka Gandhi, Samajwadi Party Question PM Modi Ahead Of His Jewar Visit</a></strong></span></p> <p>The recovery rate of the country is currently at 98.33% which is the highest since March 2020. The total number of recoveries now stands at 3,39,67,962.</p> <h3><strong>Kerala</strong></h3> <p>The total caseload of COVID-19 cases in Kerala crossed 51 lakh to reach 51,02,125 on Wednesday after it recorded 4,280 fresh infections.The state registered a ddrop in Coronavirus cases than yesterday.<br /><br />Kerala recorded 308 fatalities in the last 24 hours which raised the death toll to 38,353, according to a PTI report.</p> <p>With 5,379 more people recovering from the virus since Tuesday, the total recoveries reached 50,23,658 and the active cases dropped to 51,302, the release said.<br /><br />Among the 14 districts, Thiruvananthapuram recorded the highest with 838 cases followed by Ernakulam (825) and Thrissur (428).<br /><br />Of the 308 deaths, 35 were reported over the last few days and 273 were designated as COVID-19 deaths after receiving appeals based on the new guidelines of the Centre and the directions of the Supreme Court, the release said.<br /><br />As many as 48,916 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, it said.</p> <h3><strong>Maharashtra</strong></h3> <p>Maharashtra recorded 960 new coronavirus infections and 41 fatalities in the last 24 hours while the number of active cases remained below 10,000 for the fourth straight day, the health department said on Wednesday evening.<br /><br />The caseload in the state increased to 66,32,257 and death toll to 1,40,807, the department said.<br /><br />On Tuesday, the state had reported 19 fresh fatalities and 766 new cases.<br /><br />As many as 1,043 patients were discharged, taking the total of recovered patients to 64,78,422.<br /><br />The recovery rate in the state is 97.68 per cent while fatality rate is 2.12 per cent.<br /><br />The number of coronavirus tests carried out so far rose to 6,49,51,994, with 1,07,098 samples tested since Tuesday evening.</p>
