India Records Over 42K Coronavirus Cases In Last 24 Hrs As Kerala Infections Dip Below 30K

<p><strong>Corona Update:&nbsp;</strong>India has registered a slight dip in daily Coronavirus cases as the country clocked 42,618 cases in the last 24 hours, said the Union Health Ministry. India has reported 36,385 recoveries and 330 deaths on Saturday.&nbsp;</p> <p>Total cases: 3,29,45,907</p> <p>Active cases: 4,05,681</p> <p>Total recoveries: 3,21,00,001</p> <p>Death toll: 4,40,225</p> <p>Total vaccination: 67,72,11,205&nbsp;</p> <p>With the administration of 58,85,687 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India&rsquo;s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed the cumulative figure of 67.72Cr as per provisional reports till 7 am today. This has been achieved through 70,88,424 sessions, informed the Union Health Minister.</p> <h3><strong>Kerala</strong></h3> <p class="artconfp">Kerala, on Friday, recorded 29,322 fresh COVID-19 cases, 22,938&nbsp; recoveries, and 131 deaths in the last 24 hours. The state witnessed a fall in fresh infections as on Thursday, the state reported 32,803 cases on Wednesday while the Test Positivity rate also dropped to 17.91%.</p> <p>A statement issued by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that 22,938 people turned negative taking the total active cases to 2,46,437.&nbsp;The day saw 131 Covid deaths, taking the total death toll to 21,280.</p> <p>The Kerala government also issued an order on Friday stating that strict action will be taken against those violating the norms of quarantine.&nbsp;</p> <p>Chief Minister Vijayan has called a meeting of experts on Saturday to finalize the way forward, after interacting with local body representatives on Friday and appreciated the hard work to contain the Covid spread, reported IANS.</p> <h3><strong>Maharashtra</strong></h3> <p>While Maharashtra has been registering around 4000 Coronavirus cases in the last few days, Mumbai is seeing a rise as cases are now above 400. Maharashtra recorded 4,313 new cases on Friday including 423 cases in Mumbai. The total case tally in the state stands at 6,477,987.</p> <p>Mumbai had been recording less than 400 new cases daily till August 29.</p> <p>The state government is worried due to the forthcoming Ganpati festival as there are indications that the numbers may surge during the festive season.</p>
