Kappa Variant Of Coronavirus Raises Concern; After 2 In UP, 11 Cases Detected In Rajasthan
<p><strong>Jaipur:</strong> Rajasthan Medical and Health Minister Raghu Sharma has confirmed that 11 patients infected with Kappa variant of Coronavirus have been found in the state. Giving further details, he said that out of the 11 patients four are from Alwar and Jaipur, two from Barmer and one from Bhilwara. </p> <p>The Minister informed that the IGIB lab in Delhi confirmed the presence of the Kappa variant in nine samples through genome sequencing while other two samples were confirmed by SMS Medical College and Hospital in Jaipur. </p> <p>[tw]https://twitter.com/ANI/status/1415000538324758528[/tw]</p> <p>Sharma went on to say that the Kappa variant of Coronavirus is moderate and less lethal than the Delta variant. He also appealed to the public to follow Covid appropriate behavior with full discipline.</p> <p>Last week, two cases of Kappa variant were detected in Uttar Pradesh. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in a routine review meeting discussed about Genome sequencing of 109 samples done at King George’s medical college which found Delta Plus variant of COVID-19 in 107 samples, while the Kappa variant was found in two samples. </p> <p>Till date, more than nine lakh cases of Coronavirus have been registered in the state. Of the infected patients, about 9,000 have lost lives due to the deadly disease. In the past 24 hours, 28 new cases of Coronavirus infection were reported. </p> <p>Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said on Tuesday that due to non-supply of anti-Covid-19 vaccines as per the requirement from the Center, there is a delay in giving the second dose to the people. He requested the central government to make adequate supply of vaccines.</p>
