Tottenham Hotspur confirm coronavirus case with restart in two weeks

English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed a positive coronavirus result in the latest round of testing as the league prepares to resume in two week’s time.

“Due to medical confidentiality, the individual’s name will not be disclosed,” Spurs said in a statement on their website.

This was the only positive result after 1,197 players and staff were checked in the latest round of testing, the BBC reported, adding that a total of 13 cases have come positive across 5,079 tests in five rounds.

The player will now self-isolate for seven days, with all staff and playing members currently being tested twice every week.
