India Witnesses Huge Spike In Covid Deaths; 3998 Fatalities, Over 42K Cases Recorded In Last 24 Hrs

<p><strong>Corona Update: After witnessing a dip in Covid deaths for the last few weeks India has recorded a massive spike in Covid fatalities in the last 24 hours. The country recorded&nbsp; 3998 deaths on Wednesday.</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;India has reported 42,015 new Coronavirus cases in last the 24 hours. India's active caseload is currently at 4,07,170. Active cases constitute 1.30% of total cases. Weekly Positivity Rate remains below 5%, currently at 2.09%. Daily positivity rate at 2.27%, less than 3% for 30 consecutive days.</p> <p>Recovery Rate is currently at 97.36% after 36,977 patients recovered during the last 24 hours.</p> <p>India has witnessed a spike in cases as the country recorded over 30,000 new Coronavirus cases on Tuesday.</p> <p>Total cases: 3,12,16,337</p> <p>Active cases: 4,07,170</p> <p>Total recoveries: 3,03,90,687</p> <p>Death toll: 4,18,480</p> <p>Total vaccination: 41,54,72,455</p> <p>[tw]https://twitter.com/ANI/status/1417697754847997953[/tw]</p> <h3><strong>Kerala Covid Cases</strong> On<strong> 45-Day High</strong></h3> <p>Kerala today registered 16,848 new cases of coronavirus, pushing the infection caseload to 31,87,716, with the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) climbing close to 12% after remaining around the 10% mark for several weeks.</p> <p>The number of people who have succumbed to the killer virus rose to 15,512 with 104 more deaths, a state government release said.</p> <p>As many as 12,052 people have been cured of the infection, taking the total recoveries to 30,45,310 and the number of active cases to 1,26,398, the release added.</p> <p>Malappuram accounted for the most number of cases (2752), followed by Thrissur (1929), Ernakulam (1901), Kozhikode (1689), Kollam (1556), Palakkad (1237), Kottayam (1101) and Thiruvananthapuram (1055).</p> <h3><strong>Maharashtra Witnesses Declining Trend</strong></h3> <p>Maharashtra&rsquo;s declining case trend continued on Tuesday with the State reporting 7,510 recoveries as against 6,910 new COVID-19 cases causing the active case tally to fall to 94,593.</p> <p>The reconciliation process (completed till July 12) has resulted in a massive updation of cases and fatalities, adding 3,509 more deaths and 2,479 cases to the State&rsquo;s cumulative tally, said the State Health Department medical bulletin.</p> <p>This fresh addition, along with 147 deaths in the last week, has pushed the State&rsquo;s cumulative fatalities to 1,30,753 with the case fatality rate climbing to 2.09%.</p> <p>The total cases have reached 62,29,596 while its cumulative recoveries have risen to 60,00,911 with the recovery rate standing at 96.33%.</p>
