'Third Wave Won't Hit India If People Follow Covid Guidelines': Dr Navneet Wig, Chairman AIIMS Task Force
<p><strong>New Delhi:</strong> ABP News organized India vs Corona e-Concalve and invited doctors and medical professionals to understand the affects of second Covid wave and the cahlleneges India will have to face if the third wave hits the country. </p> <p>Dr Navneet Wig, Chairman AIIMS Task Force joined the conversation on India vs Corona 3.0 e-Conclave and discussed how to stop the third wave to hit the country. Dr Wig said that it is only possible if the Covid positivity rate to remain below 1 per cent. Dr. Wig also said that if there are more than 50 per cent beds available then only states should think about unlocking. He further said that this lockdown and unlock process will continue for 2-3 years.</p> <p>Dr Wig focused on how important it is to understand that it is the people only who can prepare beforehand and stop the Covid wave. He said that people should ensure that they live at such a place where others are vaccinated and if their neighbors or friends are not taking the jab top urge them. He also said that though the fear of Covid is necessary but myths should be busted and people should only follow the information that is authentic and not anything which is present on social media</p> <p>Dr Anjan Trikha, pain medicine and critical care expert also joined the panel and said that following Covid appropriate behavior is very necessary to combat the Third Covid wave. He said that India is well equipped with the medical equipment to battle the third wave but it won't be done without the support of the people. He also said that influencers, celebrities, actors, actresses, and sportsperson should set an example and wear masks in public places so people would follow the same. They should also guide people and make them understand the importance of the Covid jab</p> <p>Dr Uma Thakur, Professor, and Head, Dept Of Rheumatology said that mothers should be careful if they are Covid affected and guide children to follow the same. People should get vaccinated in large numbers then only we will be able to control the spread of Covid. Dr Thakur also said post-Covid treatment is as necessary as taking care of yourself while you are battling through Covid. She advised that if you are facing any issues even after recovering from Covid then don't hesitate or be scared but visit your doctor who can help you.</p>
