'France Is With You In This Struggle': Prez Emmanuel Macron Expresses Solidarity With India Amid Covid Surge

We stand ready to provide our support," Macron wrote.</p> <p>[fb]https://www.facebook.com/EmmanuelMacron/posts/3122609217971643[/fb]</p> <p>The message was posted on Twitter by French Ambassador to India Emmanuel Lenain.</p> <p>India is witnessing the second wave of coronavirus infection which has put the medical infrastructure of the states under enormous strain as hospitals face the shortage of medical oxygen, antiviral drugs, beds in view of rising Covid-19 cases.</p> <p>The country recorded a one-day tally of 3,32,730 new coronavirus cases along with 2,263 deaths and 1,93,279 discharges in the last 24 hours, according to official data released on Friday.</p> <p>With this, the Total caseload increased to 1,62,63,695, while&nbsp;Total recoveries are 1,36,48,159,&nbsp;Death toll is 1,86,920; and&nbsp;Active cases are 24,28,616.</p> <p>Total 13,54,78,420 people have been vaccinated in the country.</p>
