Four persons test COVID positive at Dambulla DEC

Four persons tested positive for COVID-19 at the Dambulla Dedicated Economic Centre (DDEC) on Sunday. Altogether, nine COVID cases have been detected from the DDEC so far. The number of COVID cases in the Dambulla has increased to 16 now. Three of the last four were employees of the DDEC and one was an employee at a hotel in Dambulla. All are young persons (24-26). They are residents of Dewahuwa and Dambulu-Halmillawa.

Nearly 2,500 persons have been subjected to random PCR tests in Dambulla so far, Dambulla health sources said.

They said that the infected persons have been sent to treatment centres, and their associates have been sent for quarantine. “The stalls where these persons have worked at, were disinfected,” they said.
