The Cabinet of Ministers is considering providing more concessions to electricity consumers and is to draw a final decision on the matter next week.
Co- Cabinet Spokesman Minister Bandula Gunawardena said that a proposal in this regard was put forward by Minister of Power and Energy Mahinda Amaraweera last week.
In the proposal, it was requested to provide a 25% reduction to electricity bills that had recorded a power usage between 0-90 units during March, April and May.
The concessions also included a 3- months period to settle outstanding bills, charges of additional units to be waived off and the decision to refrain from disconnecting power supply.
