Today’s outlook: Govt reveals economic progress, Justice Isa case hearing

Here are some of the news stories we are expecting to follow today (Thursday):

  • The federal government will present a survey report at 3pm that will show the economic progress in 2019-20. So far, it has been revealed that the energy sector’s growth fell by 2.6%.
  • PML-N’s Ahsan Iqbal and PTI leaders Farrukh Habib and Khurram Sher Zaman have contracted the coronavirus. A total of 20 Sindh Assembly MPAs have tested positive for the virus so far.
  • Today marks one year of Hamza Shahbaz’s arrest by NAB in corruption references. The PML-N will hold a conference.
  • The Supreme Court will hear the Justice Qazi Faez Isa case.
  • According to the ISPR, two Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred in an attack in Miran Shah, North Waziristan.
  • Coronavirus patients admitted to Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar can now stay in touch with their family and friends over video call.
  • The Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation and National Institute of Health have started random testing of people to control the spread of coronavirus in the federal capital.
  • The Federal Investigation Agency has summoned the heads of three oil companies after finding evidence of hoarding and profiteering.
