Sri Lankan TV Personality Manju Thenuwara becomes a Buddhist Monk

Manju Thenuwara, a journalist who previously worked at Swarnavahini and Sirasa television channels, became a Buddhist monk at Minuwangoda Bhikshu Abhyaasa Institute today.

He became popular as a journalist after hosting sports related programs and Lunch Time TV on Sirasa TV.  He worked at Swarnavahini before that.

From today onwards he will be known as Matara Wijaya Seeha Thero.

Before embracing the monk-hood, he had shared an update in his Facebook profile, which roughly translates to the following; “I very well know that all these money, vehicles, houses, job and popularity can be gone in a minute. From tomorrow, all I will have until my last breath is the yellow robe….”.
