India Reports 11,271 Covid Cases In Last 24 Hrs, Active Caseload Lowest In 17 Months

India's active caseload now stands at 1,35,918 which is the lowest in 522 days (17 months).</span></p> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0">Total recoveries: 3,38,37,859 </span></p> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0">Death toll: 4,63,530 </span></p> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0">Total Vaccination: 1,12,01,03,225 (57,43,840 in last 24 hours)</span></p> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0">The daily rise in new Covid infections has been below 20,000 for 37 straight days and less than 50,000 daily for 140 consecutive days now.<br /><br />The active cases now comprise 0.39 per cent of the total infections, the lowest since March 2020.<br /><br />The average recovery rate for the country stands currently at 98.26 per cent, the highest since March 2020, the Health Ministry said.<br /><br />A decrease of 390 cases has been recorded in the active Covid cases in the last 24 hours.<br /><br />The number of people who have recovered from the disease increased to 3,38,37,859, while the fatality rate stood at 1.35 per cent.<br /><br />The number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country so far has exceeded 112.01 crore.<br /></span></p> <h3><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0"><strong>Kerala</strong><br /></span></h3> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0">Registering a decline in Covid cases, Kerala logged 6,468 fresh COVID-19 cases, including 29 health workers, and 23 deaths on Saturday, taking the total affected in the state to 50,55,224 and the toll to 35,685.<br /><br />Among the districts, Ernakulam reported the highest number of cases--907, followed by Thiruvananthapuram with 850 and Thrissur with 772. Active cases stood at 68,630, out of which only 6.7 per cent have been hospitalised, a health department bulletin said.<br /><br />Meanwhile, 6,468 persons recuperated from the disease. taking the total cured in the state to 49,50,281.<br /><br />A total of 71,906 samples in the last 24 hours, the bulletin said, adding that there are 46 wards across 39 local self-government bodies with a weekly infection population ratio above 10 per cent.<strong><br /></strong></span></p>
