What happened today:
- Alec Baldwin's prop gun contained live round. The prop gun Alec Baldwin fired on the set of the film "Rust" on Thursday, killing director of photography Halyna Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza, contained a "live round," a union covering prop masters told its members. On Friday, photos showed Baldwin in tears and looking distraught.
- Halyna Hutchins' husband speaks out. The husband of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins - who was fatally shot when Baldwin fired the prop gun - reacted to his wife's death Friday, saying that he had no "words." Matthew Hutchins, 38, told Insider: "I don't think there are words to communicate the situation."
- Pfizer's vaccine 91% effective in children. The new data was released Friday as the FDA entered its final stages of reviewing Pfizer's application to offer its shot to 5- to 11-year-olds. Currently, the two-dose vaccine is allowed for use in people ages 12 and older. The FDA's expert panel is set to meet Tuesday to discuss and vote on Pfizer's application.
- US running out of cardboard and packaging. Inventory of packaging materials has grown increasingly limited in recent weeks due to supply-chain bottlenecks prompting shortages on everything including household goods, electronics, and food. The lack of cardboard will prove especially challenging for retailers and customer-service providers.
- Tesla shares hit all-time high. Tesla rose as much as 2% to hit a high of $910 per share, eclipsing its prior high of $900.40 reached in January, and catapulting the company's valuation to more than $900 billion for the first time ever. The increase helped push Elon Musk's net worth to about $250 billion.
That's all for now. See you next week.
