India's Covid Cases Remain Below 20K, Country Clocks 18,870 Cases & 378 Deaths In Last 24 Hrs

The country has reported 18,870 new </span><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0">cases, 28,178 recoveries, and 378 deaths in the last 24 hrs as per Union Health Ministry.</span></p> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0">Total cases 3,37,16,451 </span></p> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0">Total recoveries 3,29,86,180 </span></p> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0">Death toll 4,47,751 </span></p> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0">Active cases 2,82,520 </span></p> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0">Total vaccination 87,66,63,490 (54,13,332 in last 24 hrs)</span></p> <h3><strong>Kerala</strong></h3> <p>Kerala on Tuesday recorded 11,196 fresh COVID-19 cases and 149 deaths, which took the caseload to 46,52,810 and the toll to 24,810, mentioned a PTI report.<br /><br />The number of people who recovered from the infection since Monday was 18,849, which brought the total recoveries to 44,78,042 and the number of active cases to 1,49,356, an official press release said.<br /><br />As many as 96,436 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, it said.<br /><br />Among the 14 districts, Thiruvananthapuram recorded the highest number of cases with 1,339, followed by Kollam (1,273), Thrissur (1,271), Ernakulam (1,132), Malappuram (1,061) and Kozhikode (908).</p> <p>Of the new cases, 76 were health workers, 74 from outside the state and 10,506 infected through contact, with the source of it not clear in 540.</p> <h3><strong>Maharashtra</strong></h3> <p>Maharashtra reported 2,844 new coronavirus cases and 60 deaths on Tuesday, the health department said.<br /><br />It took the infection tally to 65,44,606, and the death toll to 1,38,962.<br /><br />As many as 3,029 patients were discharged from hospitals, taking the number of recovered cases in the state to 63,65,277.<br /><br />Maharashtra now has 36,794 active cases.<br /><br />There are 2,54,985 people in home quarantine and another 1,514 in institutional quarantine.<br /><br />The state's COVID-19 recovery rate is 97.26 per cent, while the fatality rate is 2.12 per cent.<br /><br />The total of coronavirus tests conducted in the state climbed to 5,84,29,804, including 1,43,768 samples examined since Monday evening.<br /><br />Ahmednagar district reported the highest 457 new infections in the state on Tuesday.<br /><br />Among eight regions of Maharashtra, the Pune region reported the highest 914 new COVID-19 cases, followed by the Mumbai region at 874.</p>
