Not Feeling Comfortable in Delhi, Kane Williamson & Other Kiwi Cricketers Fly Out To Maldives

<p>Kane Williamson and three other New Zealand members, in a dramatic turn of events on Friday, reportedly left from Maldives in a departure from their original plan, as they were feeling insecure staying in Coroavirus hotspot Delhi.</p> <p>New Zealanders Kane Williamson, Royal Challenger Bangalore's Kyle Jamison, Chennai Super King's Mitchell Santer and team physio Tommy Simsek flew back home to Maldives.</p> <p><strong>READ | <a href="https://ift.tt/3trZ616 Announces Squad For World Test Championship Final &amp; 5-Match Test Series Against England</a></strong></p> <p>All these players were originally supposed to stay till May 10 in Delhi's mini bio-bubble and then fly to United Kingdom ahead New Zealand vs England Test series and World Test Championship final against India from June 18.</p> <p>"Kane and few others from New Zealand were not feeling safe in Delhi because of the COVID situation there. That is why they decided to fly to Maldvies," a Sunrisers Hyderabad official told PTI.</p> <p>Another Kiwi star Test cricketer Trent Boult left for New Zealand with the rest of the IPL contingent and will join the team in the UK after spending a week with his family.</p> <p>New Zealand government has imposed a travel ban on incoming flights from India but it is allowing its citizens to return home with a mandatory two weeks quarantine.</p> <p>The Australian contingent has also flown to Maldives after the suspension of the IPL as its government has banned entry of all travellers from India until May 15.</p> <p>After many COVID-19 positive cases were detected in IPL bio-bubble, BCCI decided to suspend the T20 League on Tuesday.&nbsp;</p> <p>New Zealand will play Test series on England tour. &nbsp;Apart from this, on June 18, the Kiwi team will also play the final of the World Test Championship against India.</p>
