Larry King Dies At 87: US Talk Show Host Passes Away Weeks After Testing COVID-19 Positive

<p><strong>New Delhi:&nbsp;</strong>The American television and radio host Larry King breathed his last on January 23, 2021, at the age of 87 weeks after testing positive for COVID-19. His death was announced through a statement on his official Twitter account.</p> <p><a href="https://ift.tt/3c6rTDs READ | </strong><strong>&lsquo;Irrfan Khan's Finish Line Came Too Soon, But We Are Proud Of Him&rsquo;: Wife Sutapa Sikdar</strong></a></p> <p>The statement read, &ldquo;With profound sadness, Ora Media announces the death of our co-founder, host and friend Larry King, who passed away this morning at age 87 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.&rdquo;</p> <p>&ldquo;For 63 years and across the platforms of radio, television and digital media, Larry&rsquo;s many thousands of interviews, awards, and global acclaim stand as a testament to his unique and lasting talent as a broadcaster. Additionally, which it was his name appearing in the shows&rsquo; titles, Larry always viewed his interview subjects as the true star of his programs, and himself as merely an unbiased conduit between the guest and audience. Whether he was interviewing a U.S. president, foreign loader, celebrity, scandal-ridden personage, or an everyman, Larry liked to ask short, direct, and uncomplicated questions. The statement further revealed that his funeral arrangements and memorial service will be announced after co-ordinating with his family.&nbsp;</p> <p>Larry King started his career as a local journalist in Florida in the 1950s and 1960s. He, however, gained prominence with the show &lsquo;The Larry King Show&rsquo;. He then hosted several television programs and made a name for himself in Hollywood.</p> <p>The popular talk-show host was hospitalized on January 2, 2021, reportedly after testing positive for COVID-19.
