COVID cases reach 46,248
The total number of COVID-19 positive patients detected in the country reached 46,248 yesterday, the Health Promotion Bureau stated.
Around 39,661 of them have recovered while 6,368 patients remain in hospitals.National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated that the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory employees and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster stands at 42,476. Meanwhile, 36,265 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients from the fish market (39,417) and Minuwangoda (3,059) clusters have been discharged from hospitals.
By yesterday morning (7), the flight UL 554 from Cyprus with 201 passengers and the flight QR 668 from the Qatar with 30 passengers have arrived.
Flight WY 371 from Oman with 48 passengers, flight UL 102 from Maldives with 50 passengers, flight PS 685 from Ukraine with 192 passengers, flight TK 730 from Turkey with 10 passengers, flight UL 186 from Pakistan with 5 passengers and flight EK 648 from UAE with 70 passengers expected to arrive here within the day.
They will be referred to Quarantine Centers (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.
