Police officer dragged by crocodile, Navy commence search operation

A Police officer is reported to have been attacked by a crocodile after falling into the Nilwala River.

Reports say the officer had fallen into the river in the Nadugala area yesterday (01).

Area residents said the officer had fallen into the river while attempting to retrieve his mobile phone, which had fallen into the water, and was later seen dragged under by a crocodile.

The person has been identified as an officer who was attached to the Slave Island Police on active duty.

The Navy has commenced a search operation to find the Police Officer. (Newswire)
