  • Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro accused the World Health Organization (WHO) of encouraging children masturbating in a bizarre Facebook post he later deleted.
  • In the attack, Bolsonaro sought to discredit the WHO amid criticism of Brazil's response to the coronavirus pandemic.
  • The post came a day after he shrugged off Brazil's death toll passing 5,000, with 474 deaths in a single day.
  • Although Bolsonaro's post had no direct source it looks to have been triggered by a 2010 guide titled "Standards for Sexuality Education in Europe" published by WHO's European office and Germany's Federal Center for Health Education.
  • Business Insider took a look at the guide. It does not advise people to encourage masturbation or homosexuality.
