US coronavirus models now suggest more coronavirus deaths after previously anticipating fewer deaths, this comes as states begin to lift their stay-at-home orders

The main model used to estimate the impact of the coronavirus outbreak in the United States revised its death toll this week to 65,976 by August 4 — an increase from an April 9 projection of 60,415 deaths by August. 

The US death toll has already surpassed 45,400.
