India Records 12,830 Covid Cases In Last 24 Hrs, Active Cases Lowest In 247 Days

<p><strong>New Delhi: </strong>The country continues to register less than 15,000 Coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours. <span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0">India has reported 12,830 new Covid </span><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0">cases, 14,667 recoveries, and 446 deaths in the last 24 hours as per the Union Health Ministry.</span></p> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0">Total Case tally: 3,42,73,300 </span></p> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0">Active cases: 1,59,272 (lowest in 247 days)</span></p> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0"> Total recoveries: 3,36,55,842 </span></p> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0">Death toll: 4,58,186</span></p> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0"> Total Vaccination: 1,06,14,40,335</span></p> <h3><strong>Kerala</strong></h3> <p>&nbsp;Kerala has registered 7,427 new COVID-19 cases and 62 deaths on Saturday taking the infection count to 49,61,490 and the death toll to 31,514, according to PTI.<br /><br />State Health Minister Veena George said 7,166 persons recuperated from the disease today, pushing the total cured in the state to 48,50,742, while 70,709 samples were tested in the last 24 hours and there are 115 wards across 77 local self-government bodies which have a weekly infection population ratio above ten per cent.<br /><br />"Of the 78,624 active COVID-19 cases in the state only 8.2 per cent of the patients are admitted to hospitals," the minister said in a release.<br /><br />Among the districts, Thiruvananthapuram recorded the highest number of cases in the state today--1,001, followed by Kozhikode with 997 cases and Ernakulam with 862 cases.<br /><br />The Minister also informed that 94.7 per cent (2,52,96,660) of the targeted population in the state received the first dose of vaccine, while 50.9 per cent (1,36,05,863)of the targeted population received both the doses.</p> <h3><strong>Maharashtra</strong></h3> <p>&nbsp;Maharashtra on Saturday reported 1,130 new coronavirus infections and 26 deaths, taking its caseload to 66,09,906 and death toll to 1,40,196, a health department official said.<br /><br />With 2,148 patients discharged from hospitals, the number of recovered cases in the state rose to 64,49,186.<br /><br />There are 16,905 active cases in Maharashtra now.<br /><br />As many as 1,67,064 people are in home quarantine and another 897 in institutional quarantine.<br /><br />Maharashtra's coronavirus recovery rate stands at 97.57 per cent, while the fatality rate is 2.12 per cent.<br /><br />The total of coronavirus tests conducted in the state increased to 6,25,59,171 with 1,19,271 samples tested in the last 24 hours.<br /><br />Mumbai district reported the highest 307 new infections, followed by Ahmednagar at 123.<br /><br />The Mumbai region reported the highest 12 fatalities, followed by nine deaths in Pune region, two each in Nashik and Latur and one death in Akola. Kolhapur, Aurangabad and Nagpur regions did not report any fatality.</p>
