India Records This Year's Highest Single-Day Spike So Far With 24,882 New Infections

<p><strong>New Delhi:</strong> India has on Saturday recorded 24,882 fresh Coronavirus cases which is deeply concerning as it is the highest spike witnessed so far this year. The recovery rate has currently at 96.82 percent.</p> <p>The number of people who have recovered from Covid-19 surged is 1,09,73,260. The case fatality rate stands at 1.40 percent, the data informed.</p> <p>[tw]https://twitter.com/COVIDNewsByMIB/status/1370596992804515841[/tw]</p> <p>India's Covid-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16. It went past 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20 and surpassed the one-crore mark on December 19.</p> <p>According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, 22,58,39,273 samples had been tested until March 12 including 8,40,635 on Friday.</p> <p>Meanwhile, 18,40,897 people were vaccinated on Friday taking the total number of beneficiaries to 2,80,05,817.</p>
