BREAKING | Night Curfew In Maharashtra From Sunday Amid Covid-19 Surge; Malls To Remain Shut After 8 PM - Check Guidelines

<p><strong>Maharashtra Night Curfew:</strong> On the backdrop of significantly rising Coronavirus cases in Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray-led state government on Friday announced that night curfew will be imposed in the state from Sunday (March 28) in order to contain the spread of the deadly virus.</p> <p>As per reports, the Chief Minister ordered all authorities to "strictly enforce" the night curfew rules in Maharashtra so that transmission of Covid-19 is contained.&nbsp;</p> <p>Under the new guidelines for the state-wide night curfew, all malls will remain closed from 8 pm to 7 am in Maharashtra.</p> <p><br /><img src="https://ift.tt/31kk6LF" /></p> <p>"Night curfew to be imposed in Maharashtra from the night of 28th March. A separate order in this regard will be issued by the Disaster management and rehabilitation department soon," Maharashtra CMO said.</p> <p>The announcement by Maharashtra government came after Thackeray reviewed the COVID-19 situation in the state in a meeting with divisional commissioners, district collectors, superintendents of police and deans of medical colleges.</p> <p>Announcing the state-wide night curfew, Thackeray also warned of stricter restrictions if the people did not observe COVID-19 safety protocol. But there seems a possibility of healthcare facilities falling short given the rise in number of coronavirus patients," news agency PTI quoted Thackeray as saying.</p> <p>The decision comes a day after Maharashtra recorded 35,952 coronavirus infections on Thursday, the highest one-day rise since the pandemic began. Surprisingly, Maharashtra added over one lakh cases in four days.</p>
